stormalert.me is a live SMS weather notification service direct to your mobile phone. You are alerted the instant a severe storms warning is issued by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. This gives you the opportunity to prepare for any imminent storm dangers, such as hail, thunderstorm and flooding.

What is a Severe Storm Notification?
A severe storm notification is a SMS message sent by stormalert.me to your mobile phone via SMS.
These alerts are consistent with the warnings issued by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.

The easiest way to cancel the service is login to the members section and click 'cancel account'.

How frequent are the notifications?
Severe weather warnings are issued when severe weather is expected to affect land-based communities within 6-12 hours. Thunderstorm warnings are only issued when there is strong evidence of a severe thunderstorm, and it is expected to persist.

What happens to Severe Storm Warning Cancellations?
Cancellations issued by the Bureau of Meteorology will not be sent to you. Should a severe weather warning be re-issued then you will receive a new notification by SMS.

How long does it take to receive the SMS notification?
Once we receive the severe weather warning, you will receive an SMS.
Over 99.7% of all our SMS messages are delivered within 30 seconds.

What mobile phones and carriers are supported?
We support all major mobile telephone carriers (i.e. Optus, Telstra, Orange, 3 Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone) and phones with SMS functionality. We also support a wide range of international carriers.
